Erik’s DeliCafe opened it’s first deli in this very spot at Kings Village in 1973. Erik Johnson transformed a 600 sq. ft. delicatessen/bakery in Scotts Valley into Erik’s DeliCafé and later expanded into it’s current size. Thirty-nine years later, Erik’s DeliCafé has 31 locations throughout Santa Cruz County, the Bay Area and the Monterey Peninsula.
In the early days of Erik’s DeliCafé, Erik recruited his mom and dad, Ray and Dolores Johnson to help create many of the recipes that are still used by Erik’s today. Over the years, Erik’s “Sandwiches with Character” have been created with the help of Erik’s Team Members and Erik’s customers.
